The EVB has a single MAX232CSE RS232 transceiver device, providing RS232 signal translation for the MCU SCI channels A and B. Each of the two RS232 outputs from the MAX232 device is connected to a 9-way female D-Type connector, allowing a direct RS232 connection to a PC or terminal. Connector P3 provides the RS232 level interface for MCU SCI-A and P4 for MCU SCI-B. The pinout of these connectors is detailed below. Note that hardware flow control is not supported on this implementation.
